Week 4 of Marathon Training…I think

Yikes! I didn’t realize it has been so long since I’ve given an update on how training is going. In short, it is going. Right now we are experiencing crazy hot temps., even hotter than usual, so paces have been slow, but that’s ok. What’s the saying…a hot summer run makes for a great fall race? Something like that, and if not, don’t correct me. That is the only thing getting me through these runs. But, seriously, I feel pretty good. Two days a week I am running with our run club and thankfully last week, my running partner joined me on my long run (10 miles). I am someone who needs a distraction during my runs. There is probably something I need to work through with that, but I just enjoy running with people so much more than running alone. Running with someone is great quality time - we chat through our week, things going on with our kids, goals that we have, honestly anything and everything. I am so thankful to have friends and family that have the same interests as me and will join in my craziness.

This week’s schedule:

Monday - active recovery (pickleball)

Tuesday - yoga (mobility, stretching and strength) & 3 miles with run club

Wednesday - 8 miles w/hills

Thursday - bicep, tricep and back strength

Friday - 3 miles & shoulders, chest, legs (body weight only) strength

Saturday - 8 miles

Sunday - 3 miles & lower body strength
